Tropical Depression Patty

Tropical depression Patty continues to be on a weakening trend in the Atlantic ocean. Right now it is stationay with a very slow SW drift towards the Bahamas. The forecast for Patty is to keep it at a depression, and possibly become just a tropical low if it loses anymore strength. Right now the center of circulation is so far away from the convection that it is justs a spinning low out in the ocean. I will have more later tonight

Possible Tropical Depression Rafael

This is a much more potential tropical system to the south in the Leeward Islands. It is developing quickly and is getting into a more favorable environment for further development. The upper winds above the circulation is starting to weaken more which means that if that happens more t-storms around the center of circulation will develop. This might be one we need to monitor as it heads possibly towards the Gulf.

An asteroid called 2012 TC4 was discovered on October 4th in the night sky. After its orbit was calculated it was determined that the asteroid would pass within 59,000 miles of the earth!! The size of the asteroid is between 16 and 29 meters, in other words it is the size of a 10 story building! The asteroid will be visible in the sky late tomorrow night, or early Friday morning, at around 12:30am.

A very nice day is on tap with plenty of sunshine. Highs will be right at average (76 degrees). A cold front will move through the area during the afternoon, but we are not expecting showers. A few mid to high clouds will form, along with gusty winds, but partly to mostly sunny skies will remain. A touch cooler behind the front.
