Atlanta Weather | Rainy Week Ahead

Looks like a very unsettled week with chances for rain almost every day….staring this morning. Heavy showers can be found in our northern towns where amount will add up to and a little over an inch. The rain will taper off by mid-morning and we will see a few peaks of sunshine before it sets. Temperatures are starting off in the 60s, and will fall into the 50s during the afternoon.

Cloudy skies continue Tuesday with a easterly flow ahead of a warm front. There will be areas of drizzle and cooler temps (50 degree high). Another front moves through Wednesday with a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Atlanta Weather | Friday's Forecast

Atlanta Weather | Friday's Forecast

There are a few low clouds well south of the Atlanta Metro and there has been some reports of “Freeze Fog” down toward Macon. Freeze Fog could lead to icing on objects including the roads. Please be careful.
For the most part today should be a big time thaw! Temps are starting in the 20s, but will rise above the freezing mark between 10 and 11am. Highs will reach the low 50s with plenty of sunshine. Most if not all of the ice should melt by the end of the day.

Temps will continue to rise this weekend and our chances for rain will increase as well. Slight chance (20%) of showers on Saturday, 30% chance on Sunday.

Atlanta Weather | Thursday's Forecast

Atlanta Weather | Thursday's Forecast

Very cold start this morning thanks to good “radiational cooling”(loss of net heat from the earth surface at night with calm winds), and the snow/ice pack surfaces. Temperatures are starting in the single digits in some spot, with a few dropping to zero before sunrise.

Sunshine and temperatures rising above freeze for a few hours this afternoon will allow for good ice melting on the roadways. High will be near 40. Some refreezing will take place tonight as lows drop in to the 20s. Much warmer Friday, with highs in the low 50s.

Look for sunshine today but temps will remain cold. We started out with temps in the teens this morning and will only climb to the mid 30s.
