Tropical Storm Sean.... A Formidable Threat??

The Latest on Sean

Sean started out as a subtropical storm. Basically that means it has some of the characteristics of a tropical storm like the warm water, but at the upper levels it has an upper low and a cold core above it. Now it is starting to become a bit more tropical, which means that it is a warm core.... Sean is going to have some problems and I see him as no threat to the US.

Here are the latest stats: Max winds are 50mph, movement is now stationary, pressure is 999 and slowly falling, its location is 430 miles SW of Bermuda.

Where Will Sean Go?

Sean is starting to get underneath an area of high pressure at the upper levels (see images below), as he does this over the next few days he might stregthen a bit. But as you can see just to the west of the ridge is the trough that is moving into the center part of the US as we speak. That trough will pick Sean up and carry him out to see. The NHC and the Spaghetti plots all confirm this.
