Computer Models Showing Near Record Cold | Weather
For those of you who are regular blog readers I am still looking at a shot of cold air coming down this weekend where we will be seeing highs in the upper 60's and lows in the lower 50's for Saturday and Sunday. This other air mass is far colder and further down the road.
The GFS and EURO both have been hinting at throwing us some of the coldest October air that I have seen in a while! Both of these long range computer models push this cold air towards the state and it goes all the way to the Gulf by Thursday afternoon. This will be the third consecutive run on these models that shows this happening. Even though we are still a week away, I am feeling pretty confident that this will happen.
Here are some records for next week:
Thursday Record Low = 34
Friday Record Low = 28
Now it is too early to be talking specifics about next week but I can tell you that the GFS and EURO are both showing mid 30's for overnight lows in Atlanta for Thursday morning, The same models are also showing lower 50's for highs next Thursday!
I will put out daily updates regarding this potential cold blast on a daily basis so check back. One thing for sure, fall is here!
Here is another cool blog on some more winter folklore!
