Heavy rain but nothing severe expected today

The scattered showers and thunderstorms will return to the forecast for this afternoon as a weak disturbance moves closer to the area. Look for a 30% chance, which means not everyone will see wet weather. The storms will begin in our northern most counties, then move down to the metro area. The storms will diminish with the loss of the daytime heating.

We are not expecting the storms to be severe, but some of the storms could produce frequent lightning, and gusty winds.

Temperatures will be warming up over the next few days. Up to 88 degrees for highs on Wednesday, and 90 by Thursday. Also look for scattered afternoon T-Storms to continue through the weekend.
