Big Time Cold Coming This Weekend, Possible Flurries | Weather
Take a look at the image above! Those are 1pm temps aross N Georgia!! We are going to be seeing a major shot of colder air arriving late Friday night that will be sending temps into the mid 30's for highs across most of the metro area! That arctic air will last Saturday and Sunday and will keep morning lows in the lower 20's and even some upper teens. Saturday will be a much colder, especially with the winds out of the North at 20-25 mph.. Wind chills will be in the 20's in Atlanta on Saturday.
There is a small window of opportunity for N Georgia to get some snow flurries early on Saturday morning. AS we talked about last night there is a very powerful upper wave that will move across the area early on Saturday. Yes, most of the computer models are showing the atmosphere being very dry that morning, but this is a powerful upper wave that could create enough mid level lift to pop a few flurries between 9am and Noon.... I will have another update on this tomorrow.
