While Georgia has been seeing its fair share of rain today, our neighbor to the north, Tennessee, has been seeing ice, freezing rain, and snow. Nashville will likely receive 0.2” of ice, Memphis will likely see 0.1“of ice, and Tupelo, Mississippi will likely see around 0.2” of ice.  January is a time when we frequently see our weather become icy or snowy, but what is the worst we’ve seen in January? Below is a list of record snowfall amounts that have occurred in the month of January. *These are amounts taken from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport from 1949 to 2012.
