1pm Hurricane / Nor'easter Sandy Update | Weather
Here is the latest on the hybrid hurricane called Sandy. Right now it has max winds at around 90mph with the pressure falling down to 943mb. The pressure continues to drop as Sandy is traveling over some very warm water from the Gulf Stream so it looks like it might continue to strengthen as she heads towards New Jersey! AS of right now she is still a tropical based system, but the change over to a nor'easter is starting to take place. We can look for Sandy to make landfall early on Tuesday morning in southern New Jersey which will possibly be devastating to the North East.
Winds and Freeze In The Metro?
Winds around the metro today will be gusting to around 35 mph out of the north which will continue to usher in VERY cold air. With the winds being so high I am not looking for an all around freeze tonight since the winds will stir up the atmosphere, but temps tonight will be getting down into the mid and lower 30's...
I have a much more detailed blog later about Sandy. Please come to my facebook page and follow my updates over the next week as I track this dangerous storm as it moves up the east coast: MIKE'S FACEBOOK PAGE.
