Ok, so Mother's day might not have been the nicest type of weather to get outside and enjoy it, but it sure made for a good cave day! We saw over an inch of rain in the metro area which is great for all the lawns and gardens. It looks like this week we are going to go back to some very warm spring type of weather!

Short Term

Tonight we will continue to see a few showers in the northern sections, some brief heavy rain will be possible with these showers but do not expect anything severe at all. For the rest of the metro area we can expect partly cloudy skies with temps staying in the mid 70's for the majority of the evening. Temps will fall into the mid 60's by the morning and there will be some patchy fog.

Mid Week

The upper system that brought us the rain over the weekend is now moving up the east coast, but there is still some energy hanging back in the Texas big bend area. I am going to watch that thing closely to see if it moves out in this direction, every model has it shooting to our south and bringing rain to FL and the East Coast towards the end of the week. For us we are going to see a mini wedge set up across the N Georgia area through the middle part of the week. What this means for us is that we will see mostly cloudy skies with less than a 20% chance of afternoon showers.

The weekend

As of right now it appears that we will have a nice weekend with sunny skies and temps in the 80's. There is a very slim chance we might see a few showers on Saturday, but as of now I am not putting it in the forecast.
