Nine inches of snow falls in West Virginia

The folks up in West Virginia are ENJOYING an early look at winter!  The folks behind the Snowshoe Mountain Resort's Twitter account said today that as much as nine inches of snow fell this weekend!

For the most part, it sounds like the folks up there are excited about the early snowfall, hoping its a sign of a snowy winter for a region that depends on winter sports tourism.

Snowshoe Mountain Resort is actually on Cheat Mountain.  The peak of the mountain is 4,848 feet above sea level.  The mountain has 60 snow trails and averages 180 inches of snow every year, according to Wikipedia.

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves held their first #BravesBash social media event on Sunday evening after a matchup against the Chicago Cubs.

Although Dan Uggla broke his 33-game streak an hour before, he and all of his teammates put their smiles on and were perfectly poised to chat with fans from across the United States.

The Braves steamed a behind-the-scenes look at their first effort on their website. The event had multiple stations for fan interaction: they hosted a Conference Call, Skype with Fans, they moderated a Twitter conversation, streamed Peter Moylan’s talkshow which was named by his Twitter followers and hosted simultaneous online chats.

As a result of the effort, the team gained about 3,000 Twitter followers and acquired 16,500 Facebook likes.

Recently, running has risen in popularity due to people discovering the different benefits it offers. Running has been proven to lessen stress, aid in weight loss and can serve as a method of meditation. According to the Seattle Times, 26.5 million people in the US run 50 days out of the year.

  • Beginners Routes

The Silver Comet Trail is known as “the only truly flat place you can run in Atlanta”. The trail starts near Mavell Road in Smyrna and runs all the way to the Georgia/Alabama line, near Cedartown and Esom. The trail is a favorite among runners searching for a leisurely stroll and good scenery.
