Wind Chill dips to teens and single digits overnight

The cold air is in place and the wind continues to whip up.  The wind mixing with the cold air makes it feel colder than it really is.  In the 9pm hour in Atlanta, the temperature is 33 degrees.  The wind is coming in from the NW at 13 miles per hour.  That makes it feel like it is 23 degrees. The map shows many areas feeling like it's in the 20s.  We even have some areas of north Georgia experiencing wind chills in the teens already.   It will only get colder overnight.  Even though the wind advisory expires at 10pm, there will still be enough of a breeze to give us some very low wind chills by morning.  The wind chill in the Atlanta area will be in the mid teens.  Some parts of north Georgia will have wind chills in the single digits.

This will be the coldest air so far of the season.  So far, the coldest temperature in Atlanta was 27 on February 2nd.  We will have a low Sunday morning of 25.  Skies will be clear, so once the sun comes up at 7:20, the slow warm up process will begin.  We will have a high of 48 degrees Sunday.  It will be 10 degrees warmer on Monday with a high of 58.

Rain will move back into our area on Tuesday.  We may even have a little thunder.  We don't expect any severe weather on Tuesday with the rain.
