Flash Flood Watch extended to include more counties on southside | News
The flash flood watch that covers all of north Georgia, now has been extended to include counties south of I-20. The watch now runs from LaGrange to Macon northward. We've had some pockets of moderate to heavy rain at times this evening. Here's a look at some of the radar estimates of rainfall so far:
Heavier amounts have mainly been in West Georgia with lighter amounts to the east. We will continue with rain overnight. We could see some areas picking up 1-3 inch totals by morning.
This is part of the same system that caused severe weather in southern Mississippi and South Alabama. We will not have the severe weather here. Our air is too stable. Our main threat will be for more rain and the potential for flash flooding. The flash flood watch will expire at 1pm Monday.
