Rain on the Way | News
I hope you enjoyed today's weather! After the fog burned off, we had plenty of sun and a high of 69 degrees! Changes are coming our way on Thursday. The rain you see in the radar picture that is in Louisiana and Mississippi is now pushing into west Alabama. That rain will begin to move into Georgia Thursday morning.
The rain will move from the southwest to the northeast. Residents in LaGrange and Newnan will see the rain before we get it here in Atlanta. It will move in to the metro area between 6am and 9am. Depending on where you live will determine how much rain you get. Areas to the south will get more rain. We will have lighter amounts for areas to the north.
Check out the Rain Forecast map. It shows some cities south of Atlanta gettting around an inch or more of rain. Notice those amounts are less for Atlanta and even less for north Georgia.
The rain will move out Thursday night. Another quick moving system will move in Friday afternoon to give us another quick shot of a few showers. It will move out in time to give us a nice weekend. Another round of rain and even thunderstorms will move back in to the area at the beginning of next week.
We will keep tracking the rain for tomorrow and storm potential for next week in the Weather Information Zone.
