NWS: EF-1 Tornado reported in Fannin Co. on Wednesday | News
BLUE RIDGE, Ga. -- Investigators from the National Weather Service said Friday that the storm that passed through the Blue Ridge area on Wednesday was an EF-1 magnitude tornado.
An EF-1 tornado has winds that run between 86 and 110 miles per hour. This particular storm touched down in the Sugar Creek area and moved to the northeast before lifting in the Hothouse Valley area.

Maximum wind speeds, according to surveyers, was about 90 mph. Numerous trees and telephone poles were damaged or snapped by the storm's winds.
Five structures were damaged -- mainly due to falling trees.
