ATLANTA -- The entire metro Atlanta and North Georgia region is under a tornado watch until 4 p.m. Wednesday. Several tornado warnings have already popped up across the area.

If you hear a siren or know a tornado is headed your way, a simple acronym can help you stay safe: D.U.C.K.

Down to the lowest level of your home or business.

Underneath something sturdy.

Center of an interior room.

Keep away from windows.

If you live in an apartment, you can contact your apartment management to find out the severe weather plans for the entire complex.

If you lose power, you can contact your service provider, but with widespread outages, repairs will take a while.
