Atlanta Breaks a 123 year old record high temperature | News

Quick update:  Atlanta broke a 123 year old record high for today's date.  We hit 76 degrees this afternoon.  That is a record high temperature for January 12th.  The previous record for today's date was 75 degrees set in 1890. 

This is unseasonably warm for this time of year.  The average high for today's date is 52 degrees.  We were 24 degrees above average.

Atlanta wasn't the only record in the state.  Macon and Columbus also set new records today.  Macon was 78 degrees.  Columbus hit 77.
