Warm Air Around the Corner | News
Get ready for some warmer air to move. Some may call this the "January thaw!" A change in our weather pattern will bring in some air that will run 15-20 degrees above average for this time of year. Take a look at the 6-10 day temperature outlook. It is showing above average temperatures for much of the eastern half of the country. Below average temperatures are out to the west. That cold air will return to the south after the 10 day period.
It will be another chilly day Tuesday. We will see clouds increasing with temperatures starting off Tuesday morning in the mid 30s in Atlanta. It will get up to 51 in the afternoon. Wednesday, we move up a little more. Highs will reach 60. Then on Thursday and Friday, we will be in the mid to upper 60s. That warm air will be accompanied by some moisture, though. We will have a few showers Wednesday through Friday.
The treat comes on Saturday. Right now, it looks like we will get a break in the rain, but the warm air will stick around. We are forecasting a high of 71 degrees Saturday! Our average high for this time of year is 52 degrees. We will enjoy the above average temperatures for a while. But another cold surge is set to return around January 17th. The computer models show that it will be a rather vigorous cold blast that will move in. Those models can change. We will be watching it for you!
