Atlanta Weather | Christmas Eve Forecast | News
Today is round one of a one-two punch of rain and thunderstorms that will move into the area. Round two could bring severe weather Christmas night into Wednesday morning. An area of low pressure will strengthen in the western gulf and move east-northeast. The low will move just north of North GA dragging a cold front through the state. Along and ahead of the front will be showers and thunderstorms. Some of the thunderstorms will be capable of producing damaging winds and very heavy down pours. The front is forecast to arrive late Christmas night. This is a fast moving system and should clear the area by Wednesday afternoon. Colder air will move in behind the front, even a few flurries are possible for the north GA mountains.
