Atlanta nearing 14 inch yearly rainfall deficit | News
Some much needed rain is on the way! We are watching a developing system out west that will make it to Georgia late Monday night into Tuesday morning. We are in desperate need for some rain. Our yearly rainfall deficit is nearing 14 inches. As of today, we are 13.98 inches below average in rainfall. The rain moving our way won't put too much of a dent in that rain deficit. Our QPF (Quantitative Precipitation Forecast) is showing a potential of a quarter of an inch of rain early Tuesday. The rain totals are smaller farther to the east. State's to our west will see more rain that we will here in Georgia. The rain totals continue to decrease as the system moves east. We will have more dry weather for the middle of the week. Another weaker system moves in Saturday. That will only give us a 30% chance of a shower. Don't expect a drought buster with those rain totals either!
