Atlanta's First Freeze by Morning

The coldest air so far this season is moving in over night.  Atlanta's low temperature Sunday morning will be 31 degrees.  That will be the first official freeze for Atlanta so far this season.  Many areas outside the city have already had freezing temperatures and even a frost or two.  The coldest that we've had so far this season is 35 degrees on November 13th.  This is a little late for Atlanta.  We usually see our first freeze by now.  The average date of first freeze for Atlanta is the First week of November.

We saw a sharp drop in temperatures compared to yesterday.  Today's high was 50.  Friday's high was 72!  The average high for this time of year is 61 degrees.  So Friday, we were 11 degrees above average.  Saturday, we were 11 degrees below average.  That's a 22 degree temperature drop from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.

After the cold start Sunday, we will gradually warm up during the day.  We will get back to the mid to upper 50s Sunday...then mid 60s on Monday.  Our next rain chance will move in on Tuesday.
