Frost Advisory, Freeze Warning for north Georgia overnight | News
ATLANTA -- The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Frost Advisory and a Freeze Warning for north Georgia running through 9 a.m. Friday.
The Freeze Warning is for areas to the west of Atlanta, including Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding, Douglas, Coweta, Carroll, Floyd, Bartow, Fayette and Haralson counties. South Fulton County is also under a freeze warning.
The Frost Advisory is in effect for the remainder of the northern portion of the state, including Clayton, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Rockdale, Forsyth and Henry counties. The central and northern portions of Fulton County are also under this advisory.
11Alive Meteorologist Allison Chinchar says temperatures are expected to fall to near freezing overnight, which may leave frost and-or frozen patches on outdoor surfaces. Care should be taken with tender vegetation, which may be damaged or destroyed by freezing temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to rebound Friday, going up to 68 degrees. Temps should move into the 70s over the weekend. The next chance of rain is not expected before Monday.
