Election Day

Of course you know how it works, Murphy's law that is.... Tomorrow is election day and all of N Georgia will be heading out to the polls, even if the rain chances are up..... which they are now. There is a powerful disturbance coming in from the NW that will wrap up tonight and tomorrow morning and bring us some very good chances of rain. We can expect the rain to start overnight tonight and last through a majority of the morning around all of N Georgia. Up in the NE mountains there is a chance that we could see some flurries in the morning tomorrow! None of that is expected in the metro area. Temps tomorrow will be on the cool side with north winds and highs only in the lower 50's, brrrrrr!

Big Nor'easter!!

The system that comes across N Georgia tomorrow will make its way into the Atlantic late tomorrow night and hit the gulf stream! The latest GFS and EURO actually BOMB this system into Wednesday as it heads towards New England! What I mean by bomb is the pressure is forecasted to fall 24 millibars in 24 hours! Indications from all computer models show the winds at around 60-70mph on Wednesday on the northern side of this storm in parts of CT, NH, and VT!! There are also indications that parts of the NE United States could see 6-12 inches of snow through Thursday morning!!!

Snow Across Parts of N Georgia??

The initial disturbance that will be moving through N Georgia could pop a few flakes of snow in the NE portions of the state.. Mainly Towns and Rabun counties could see a dusting of snow tomorrow in the morning. But it is when the secondary disturbance that moves through Wednesday AM could see a bit more as the air will be very cold above the surface and there will be enough lift to squeeze out what moisture is present. This could be a bit further south that the chances on Tuesday with even parts of Dawson and N Hall counties could see a flake or two Wednesday AM!! I am not expecting any accumulations with the secondary system.

There are some more chances in the long range forecast, I will have an update on this later tonight. Remember I am always tracking the weather on my facebook page, come join the 8000+ fans that get all kinds of weather and other stuff: MIKE'S FACEBOOK PAGE.
