New Tropical Depression | News
A new Tropical Depression has formed in the Atlantic and is forecast to strengthen over the next 48 hours. The storm could impact South Florida early next week.
Tropical Depression #9 will move toward the west and approach the Leeward Islands by Wednesday, and if it becomes a Tropical Storm later today it will take the name Isaac.
For now the storm is forecast to move through the Caribbean, impacting Puerto Rico, and Jamaica before nearing Cuba as a hurricane.
Computer models are suggesting that south and central Florida could be impacted by this storm.
For right now, it looks as though Sunday and into the start of next week could be pretty wet with heavy downpours.
We will be watching the forecast closely for the fluctuations in the path and intensity of future Isaac.
The storm could move into either the eastern Gulf of Mexico and have a greater influence on the west side of Florida, or it could move over the Bahamas.
Stay tuned for updates on the impact the storm could have on our area.
