Storms moving South | News

The heavy storms continue to move south out of our area.  The heaviest rain stretches from Coweta and Meriwether County over to Fayette and Spalding County.  These storms are producing some heavy rain, lightning, gusty wind and small hail.  They are moving to the south and southwest at 15mph.

These storms have had a history of damage.  We have reports of trees down in Barrow County.  Also reports of trees on some trailers in Newton County.  There are other reports of minor damage with tree limbs and some power lines down in other spots.

These storms have stabilized out atmosphere a little.  We still have another cluster of storms north of Lake Lanier that is moving south.  It isn't as strong as the ones that came through earlier.

We will continue to have a chance of storms like these each afternoon this week.
