Rain Chances going up for the Weekend | WEATHER BLOG | News
Rain chances go up as we move through the weekend. We started off the morning with a few light showers over in west Georgia. That area of light rain fell apart as it moved to the east. Rain totals were very light with this.
We will have a break in the rain chances late morning and early afternoon, then a few more scattered showers will redevelop in the afternoon and evening hours. We could hear a few rumbles of thunder, but we aren't expecting severe weather with this. Rain totals will generally be less than a half of an inch today.
The rain chances will be higher for Mother's Day. We will have the potential for rain at any time of the day, not just afternoon and evening. We expect between a half inch and an inch of rain on Sunday. Highs will move up to 74.
Monday, we will still have some scattered showers and a few thundershowers. The rain chances go down Tuesday. We will be drier for the middle and end of the week.
Temperatures hold in the 70s for the first part of the week. We will move back into the low 80s by the end of the week.
