ATLANTA WEATHER | Rain Moves In | News
The first part of the day will have some dry hours on Saturday. The rain will move in after lunch and continue pushing across our area late afternoon into the evening.
We will be in a more stable environment with this system. This will mainly be a rain event for us. You may hear a couple of rumbles of thunder later tonight into tomorrow morning, but the threat for severe weather will stay to the south. The main risk for severe thunderstorms will be roughly south of a line from Columbus to Macon.
We will have to keep an eye on rain totals. As the rain moves in this afternoon, it will be pretty persistent through late Sunday. Many areas will pick up between a half inch to an inch and a half of rain before it all ends. The flooding threat is still small, just watch out for some ponding on roads in some areas.
I will keep an eye on the rain as it moves in. More updates later.
