The Oklahoma Dust Storm Pic.... Meteorological CSI Time!

The Oklahoma Dust Storm Pic.... Meteorological CSI Time!

Ok, I am sure you have seen this pic. If not Let me fill you in on what it is. A severe thunderstorm rolled through Oklahoma City last year and picked up a lot of dust. I watched the visible satellite movie on this line of storms and it was for sure a big dust producer. So this pic here was snapped from a 15th story floor in a buiding as the storm passed to the photographers east. My jaw, as well as a lot of other people, hit the freaking floor in amazement! Of course some people were screaming "PHOTOSHOP"...... so a buddy of mine in Louisville and I decided to do a CSI style investigation.

Severe Weather Chances up Wednesday and Thursday

Severe Weather Chances up Wednesday and Thursday

I was driving around today near Kennesaw to talk to a group of kids at Shiloh Hills Christian School and I was thinking to myself  "Spring is pretty much here". Typically the last week of February in the south is a good time when it starts to really warm up. Daffodils are up, lots of trees are budding, and the storms that roll through turn into t-storms rather than just rain. This year is obviously different considering that we have barely had a winter, but the rain that has affected us has been just that.... rain. That's is about to start changing as we head into March, we are entering severe weather season right on time with the threat for some severe weather tomorrow night then again on Thursday night.

Short Term

Cloudy Start, Sun This Afternoon

Mostly cloudy skies to start today. A weak disturbance moving through the area will bring a very slight risk for sprinkles. Skies will clear out this afternoon, and bring sunshine. Temps will be in the low 60s. Should be a nice afternoon weather wise.
Fair skies tonight as temps drop into the low 40s. We will get more sunshine for Wednesday with temps in the mid to upper 60s.

Long Term:

Thursday will start off with sun, but clouds will increase and we will have a 40% chance of showers. We will have a better chance Friday. Thunderstorms are also possible. Behind the front, temps will cool down Saturday, but skies will remain dry all weekend.

Short Term

Tonight will continue to be partly cloudy and on the chilly side, temps by morning time will be in the lower 40's and upper 30's across the metro area. Tomorrow will be a gorgeous day with temps heading up into the upper 50's and lower 60's by early afternoon. Winds will be light from the south at around 10-15.

Wednesday and Thursday

It seems that we are going through another warm spell with temps this weeks heading into the mid and upper 60's, even some 70's are in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. There will be a few showers around on Wednesday and then again on Thursday morning... It appears that there will be a slim chance of severe weather on Thursday night..
